Do I need to apply for visa exemption for Shanghai pudong for 72 hours or just turn up at airport ?

Do I need to let shanghai airport or the airline know that we are wanting free transit for 72 hours or can we just turn up at customs and they sort it there ?

Hi, you need to inform the airlines that you want to use the free transit in Shanghai when you board the plane, so that the airline can declare this to the Immigration Inspection prior to your visit. Then, you can make the application at the airport upon arrival.
