Transit visa for South African

I'm a a South African with a temporary HK residence permit. I will be in transit in Beijing for 20 hours. Does the 24 hour transit visa apply to my situation?
I would like to visit the Great Wall. Is that within the Beijing administrative region?

Sibu, if you will go to a third country or region different from the last one you come from after transiting in Beijing, you qualify for the 24 hour direct transit in Beijing. You can go to the Great Wall because it is within the Beijing administrative region.
