can i use 72/144-hour visa-free transit?

Hello,I've a question about the 72/144-hour free transit. 1: We fly from Daegu (South-Korea) to Shanghai and will be here for 4 days. After that we fly form Shanghai to Osaka (Japan). Can we use the 144-hour free transit?2.1: We fly from Osaka (Japan) to Beijing, but we have a stopover in Shanghai to switch planes (1 hour 50).After that one person is flying to Paris, can he use the 72 hour free transit in Beijing?2.2: We fly from Osaka (Japan) to Beijing, but we have a stopover in Shanghai to switch planes (1 hour 50).After that I'm flying to Taipei (Taiwan), but I have a stopover in Nanjing (China) to switch planes (3 hours) and than go to Taipei. Can I use the 72 hour free transit in Beijing?3: I'm flying from Taipei to Beijing, but I've a stopover in Hefei to switch planes (3 hours). Can i use the 72 hour free transit in Beijing?Marco

1. Yes it´s fine to use the 144h twov.2.1 No he can´t as 2 stops are not allowed.But if his transit time is no longer than 24h, he can use the 24h free transit (multi stops with in China are allowed).2.2 The same for you, the 72h don´t work but if your transit time is under 24h you´re fine.3. The same as before, no 72h twov allowed with 2 stops but the 24h transit is fine if you fly to another country but Taiwan.

Hello Thomas,Thanks for your answer.So if I only change planes (don't leave the airport and go in China) i can't use the 72-visa free?The flight are on one ticket.Marco

Right if you have 2 or more stop overs in China, you can´t use the 72h twov.It doesn´t matter if you change aircrafts, leave the airport etc..... if you have a second touchdown you´re no longer eligible for the 72h twov.
