can i qualify for 144h free visa transit ?

Hello, I will be on business trip soon flying from Paris (France) to Shanghai landing on a Monday, visiting 1 plant in Shanghai and 1 plant in Kunshan (Jiangsu province) during the week and then flying from Shanghai airport to Seoul (South Korea) on the saturday of the same week. From what I read on your website it seems that I could qualify for the 144h visa free transit : I would stay only 5 days (120h), stay in Shanghai area, and then fly to South Korea. For your information I plan to fly from South Korea to Japan and then from Japan back to Paris (France). Can you please confirm if I can qualify for the 144h visa free transit ? If yes do I need to complete any documents in advance ? Thanks

Hi, you qualify for the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai, no visa is needed then. You should inform the airlines that you want to use the free transit in Shanghai before you board the plane in Paris. No need to complete any documents in advance.

Just to clarify I will visit parent plants not supplier plants so may be I cannot qualify then as the web site states that the 144h free visa applies for businessmen, six days are enough to attend the Canton Fair in Guangzhou, or various trade fairs and conferences in Shanghai, conduct market research, review suppliers' factories, or sign contracts with partners. I will be performing internal audits in parent plants, do you think that this is still a valid situation to qualify ?

The immigration couldn't care less. But you cannot attend the Canton fair because you are not allowed to leave Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang.
