About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

We will fly from USA to Beijing for 3 nights

and then travel by train to shanghai for 3 nights for a cruise that ends in Hong Kong. From Hong Kong we will travel to Singapore for 4 nights then back to Hong Kong for 4 nights then back to the US. Does this qualify for the 144 hour free transit? Can I apply for a longer visa in case we plan to return to China in the future? Thank you

Hi, you cannot use the 144 hour free transit policy because it requires that you should go to Shanghai directly. You can apply for a tourist L type for that.
