About:China Visa

I went to the embassy of china in HCMC Vietnam today with all my documents to apply for a visa.

I hold a Greek passport.
I was told we are not giving you a visa and we do not need to tell you why.
They said I need a document from the Chinese government as an Invitation.
I then asked 'is there any other way to do this?' and I was told to apply in other country such as Greece.
Do you think the reason I was not granted a visa was because I applied in Vietnam and not in my home country?
Also do I need to follow the same procedure for 3 days transit G type?

Hi, based on what I know, temporary visitors in some countries are usually advised to make the application in their home country, and the embassy has right to refuse to tell you why you are rejected.
Could you please tell me which city in mainland China you will transit? Then I can tell you if you need a transit G type.

I am planning to visit Beijing for 3 days.
But if it is easier to have a transit visa then I will look into booking a flight from HCMC to Taiwan , Taiwan to Beijing and Beijing to HCMC.
Thank you!

If you travel like HCMC-Taiwan-Beijing (72 hours)-HCMC, then you will qualify for the 72 hour free transit facility in Beijing.
