Hello! I am a US citizen that will be in Cambodia from July-August of this year (2017). I am waiting on official document working permit paperwork for my Z type, can I apply for my Z type in Phnom Penh? The documentation may arrive after I leave for Cambodia, but I would like to know if I can apply for the Z type at the Chinese Embassy in Phnom Penh instead of going all the way back to America. Thank you!

Hi, it's possible for you to make the application in Phnom Penh. If it can be done, you don't have to go back to your country for that.

No, you don’t need to do anything special. Just follow the normal procedures. Your employer should first get the work permit for you and then you can prepare the required documents to apply for work Z type.
