About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Traveling to Tokyo (7 days), then Beijing (3 days) and then back to US.

From US, travelling straight flight to Tokyo (stay there for 7 days). Then from Tokyo to Beijing (stay for 3 days). Fly back to US (Beijing - 3 hr layover in Haneda airport- then to Los Angles). Do we (2 adults and 17 yr old) qualify for 72 hr free transit visa? We all have US passports.

Cristina, so you will travel like USA-Tokyo-Beijing-Haneda-USA? If yes, you won’t qualify for the 72 hour free transit in Beijing because it won’t be a transit at all if you transit in Haneda airport on your way back.
You need to apply for a tourist L type in advance.
