Beijing visa for British citizen in New Zealand

Hi, I am entering Beijing from aukland, New Zealand for 5 days. I have been to the Christchurch cOnsulate who say they can't help me get a visa due being on a working holiday visa in New Zealand (I hold a British passport) what is the other option to getting a visa for Beijing ASAP?

Dear, if possible, you should go back to UK and make the application in your home country. Or you can find an agency in New Zealand to see if it can help you make the application there.
