About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Do you need to have the residency permit complete within 30 days

or do you just need to apply within 30 days of entering the country? If your application is denied, can you still leave the country if you have been in China longer than 30 days?

Jake, you should apply for it within 30 days after your entry. After you submit the application, you can stay in China until you get the result even if it may be longer than 30 days.
