About:China Transit Visa

Can we see the city and leave airport for a few hours

Hi
We are Permanent Residents of New Zealand. Our passports are of Pakistan.
We have to visit Pakistan and may have a layover in any China city for 11 hours or 12.
Q1: Do we need to apply for visa if we want to leave airport to see the city and come back before flight?
Q2: If we need to apply, how much fees we will have to pay? We are two adults and two kids.

You don't need a transit G type for that because you are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit.
If you want to leave the airport to explore the city, you need to apply for a temporary stay permit which is free of charge at the immigration officer inside the airport.
