About:Shanghai Pudong Airport

I am flying from Detroit to PVG then onwards to MNL via delta.

I am flying delta airlines to PVG and connecting to MNL via china eastern. Do I need to go through customs/immigrations formalities in PVG and more importantly, do I need to pick up my luggage in PVG (for inspection or repeat check in or whatever purpose) as it will be a different carrier. My itinerary is all in one ticket and as far as I know, Delta and China Eastern Airlines are partners. Please let me know.

Thanks,

JB

It is an international to international transfer.
The correct transfer procedures are the following:
International Passenger After Arrival - International Arrival Access - Boarding Pass & Quarantine & Immigration - International Luggage Claim - Arrival Hall - Go to 3F for Boarding
If your two airlines have luggage check through service, your luggage will be delivered to the destination. Don't worry.
