Philippine passport layover

I am a philippine passport holder travelling from Singapore to US with layover at beijing, do I need to get a valid visa for china or the layover permit will do?

Van, if you transit in Beijing for less than 24 hours, you can enjoy the 24 hour direct transit. No visa will be needed then.

So for 48 hours layover i need to get a valid visa? Or im allowed outside for 24 hours?
