San Francisco to Tokyo, Tokyo to Shanghai for less than 72 hours, flight back to SF

I am traveling from San Francisco to Tokyo then traveling to Shanghai for less than 72 hours before flying back to San Francisco. Am I eligible for the 72 hour free transit?
