i am currently studying in shanghai on a residence permit

Question

My recently obtained residence permit expires on the 30th of June when I will be traveling Asia with my girlfriend. I then return to china the 3rd of July stay until the 25th. I am not sure what I might be able to do in order to extend my visa without going to Hong Kong. I am in Shanghai until the 14th of June and then return to Beijing on the 3rd of July and then leave from Shanghai on the 25th of July back to the USA. Please let me know what might be the best solution since I have so much time until I have to leave Shanghai I figured something could be done without having to leave China

Francisco, based on what you said, you may not be able to extend your residence permit if your study will finish by the end of June. You are advised to apply for a tourist L type for re-entering China on 3rd of July when you are in other country.
