Can I apply for 24hr direct transit visa? Shanghai - Cruise to Japan

Hi,

I'm travelling to Shanghai next month (11/04/2017) and arriving at 17:35. I will stay one night in Shanghai and then leave via cruise at 16:45 the next day. Can I use the 24 hr direct transit? I'm holding a British passport.

Many Thanks.
