About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Return to the same destination but with a 1 hour connection

Hello,

If I fly London_Guangzhou(stopover)_Hangzhou and then return within the 144 hour window with the route Hangzhou_Doha(1hr stopover)_London. Both journeys are only using one airline.

Does the Doha stopover on the return flight count as the different country for the transit visa.

The problem is not with your Doha connection, but your Guangzhou one. You are not allowed to enter and depart from ports of entry in different regions.

Even though I'm only in Ghuangzhou airport for less than 2 hours before I continue on to Hangzhou which is my end destination, after which I transfer out of Hangzhou within 144 hours.

Right. It is because you have to clear immigration in Guangzhou. Only immigration in Hangzhou (and Shanghai/Nanjing) are authorized to issue the 144-hour entry permit.
