About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144 hour visa free ok for a stopover in third country?

Hi there,

Just checking, if I am flying Bangkok - Shanghai (5 days) - Hong Kong (2 hour stopover) - Bangkok, am I eligible for 144 hour free entry?

If I fly Bangkok- Shanghai -Bangkok, I am not eligible?

You assumed correct. The second scenario is not transit.
