About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Flying Vancouver-Hong Kong-Beijing-Urumqi-Almaty

I am a US citizen flying with a short layover in HK, then 30 hour layover in Beijing.
I have a hotel by the Great Wall with my welcome letter stating all the necessary info for my 72 hour transit visa application, However since i have a layover in HK and Urumqi (even though i do not plan to leave either airport) will that still enable me to get the free 72 hour Transit. I will be flying in and out of Beijing (PEK) Airport.

Thank you!

Dear, I'm afraid that you are not eligible for the 72h free transit policy because of the layover in Urumqi. You can contact the airline to confirm this.
