About:Visa Policy of China

144 hour visa free entry

I will be undertaking an Asian cruise at the end of April arriving into Zhujiajian at 8.00am [from Japan] departing that afternoon at 5.00pm, then continuing to Shanghai arriving at 10.00am next morning and departing 2 days later at 5.00pm. From there I will continue on to Japan.

The Embassy in Australia cannot advise me whether I will be eligible for the 144 hour free entry. Are you able to advise? I am an Australian citizen.

Jackie, if your travel route is Japan-Shanghai-a different country rather than Japan-Shanghai-Japan, you may be able to enjoy the free transit in Shanghai both times.
