About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Can you please check my itinerary and tell me if we need visas?

We are Australian Citizens and one of us is American. First we were told that under 72 hrs we don't need a visa and then we were told that because we are going on to another city in China-Changsha we do. Please help us clarify as the visa departments are very hard to get through too.

Brenda, no, you won’t qualify for the 72 hour free transit in China because you will transit in both Beijing and Changsha. You should apply for a transit G type or tourist L type in advance.
