About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I am travelling to Guilin from London via stopover at Chongqing.

Hi,

I arrive at 12:05 Monday and leave at 19:00 Wednesday.

Do I need to have documents with me when I arrive at the airport to get my 72 hour free visa?
thanks

You need to pay for a visa in advance (there is no free visa) or else you will be denied boarding in London.

So it makes no sense to call it )2 hour free transit then? I would have stayed longer if I had known I still had to pay!?

There is "Transit without visa", also known as "free transit", which can be for 24, 72 or 144 hours depending on your itinerary and circumstances.

You're not eligible for the 72h twov as you have another stop in China before you arrive in Guilin.
And that's not allowed if you wanna use the 72h twov.
You have to apply for a tourist visa in advance.
