About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

TO SEOUL VIA SHANGHAI

I just booked the flight from San Francisco to Shanghai. And I booked 3 days behind flight from Shanghai to Seoul. The 2 flight's airline is different. Even, I bought the tickets separately. Is it possible to get a 72 hour visa in this case?

Separate tickets and different airlines is fine. You can have 144 hours transit without a visa in Shanghai.
