About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Vancouver - Beijing - Thailand

We are arriving in Beijing in the 25th at 4:25 pm and flying out on the 28th at 7:45 pm. We plan to visit the Great Wall. Do we need a full tourist visa?

Pattycake, I’m afraid you need to apply for a tourist L type for that.

Your stay is over 72h so you're not eligible for the 72h twov.

At Beijing the 72 hours is counted from scheduled arrival to scheduled departure time. You risk being denied boarding at your origin (or any stops along the way). It would be much safer to change your flight to Thailand to an earlier one (there are several earlier PEK-BKK non-stop flights every day).
