About:Beijing Transportation

Swedish traveler who has 10hr to spend in Beijing before I take my flight to destination Thailand.

Do you think I have time to leave the airport and enjoy BJ for a couple of hours? And how do I leave and come back to the airport in the best way? Thank you

Yes, you can make full use of these hours to tour around downtown area. Upon landing, take Airport Express from PEK to Dongzhimen Station first. It takes around half an hour. Then transfer to subway line 2 to Qianmen Station, Exit A. After arriving, walk to Tiananmen Square and tour around Forbidden City. Then take a taxi to Wangfujing Street. You can find many nice local snacks and interesting souvenirs there.
Notably, remember to go back to the airport at least 2 hours in advance before the departure. From Wangfujing Street, take subway line 1 to Jianguomen Station and line 2 to Dongzhimen Station. Then also take the airport express to get to the terminal building.
