Are video consoles and video games ok?

I'd like to take my Nintendo 3DS and my pokémon games with me. Would they be allowed?
Is it best not to take any books at all into China, or is there an approved list of books allowed?

Su, you are allowed to take self-used video games.
The content of books should not include inappropriate content. You may check this information with the customs.
