About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hi, I will be traveling home to Sydney from Beijing on China Southern next Month.

My flight arrives evening in Guangzhou and onward flight the following morning. My trip to Beijing will use up the second portion of my double entry business M type (have a separate trip to Shanghai earlier in March). Can I apply for transit visa for overnight stay in Guangzhou, provided by China Southern? Do I just advise of my intention when on plane (and also tell check in counter staff)? Thanks..

Michael, if you fly within China when traveling from Guangzhou to Beijing, the second entry on your double-entry visa can cover your trip. No other transit G type will be needed. When you hold a Chinese visa, you can travel around the whole country.
