About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Sydney - Hong Kong - Macau - Beijing - London

Hi, I'm a UK passport holder - can i stay in Hong Kong then Macau for a maximum of 72 hours only or can i stay longer? If I enter via Hong Kong can I leave via Macau or visa versa and then onto Beijing?

Kev, if you travel like Sydney - Hong Kong - Macau - Beijing – London, you will be eligible for the 72 hour free transit in Beijing. And your layover in Beijing cannot exceed 72 hours.

UK passport holders can stay in Hong Kong for 6 months without a visa. You can also stay in Macau without a visa for 6 months. The 72 hours is only relevant for transit in Beijing, as stated above.
