Visa free in Shanghai for cruise tourist groups

I am travelling from Australia for a cruise from Hong Kong to Tokyo. I will have 1 day in Shanghai on that cruise and will be doing a tour offered by the cruise ship (Celebrity Cruises). Do I need a visa?

Gilda, you may be able to enjoy the 24 hour direct transit in Shanghai, and then no need to apply for a visa. However, you’d better double check that with the cruise ship company.
