About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can you do Japan to Beijing to Hong Kong

and then immiediately that same day do Hong Kong to Shanghai to USA? I'm trying to figure out the best way to get to Beijing and Shanghai without a visa.

Jos, if you travel like Japan-Beijing (72 hours)-HK-Shanghai (144 hours)-USA, you will be able to enjoy the 72 hour free transit in Beijing and the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai. And then no visa will be required.
