Celebrity Cruise Visa for Australian passport holder

Hi,
I have a client travelling from Hong kong to Japan on a Celebrity Cruise.
They will spend 1 day in Shanghai. Do they need a Chinese visa ?

Bec, no, they don’t need it because they will qualify for the 24 hour direct transit in Shanghai.
