About:Shanghai 15-day Visa-free Policy for Cruise Tour Groups

Celebrity cruise requiring visa

I am on a cruise that stops in Shanghai for a day. The previous port is Korea and the next port is Taiwan. I thought the 144 visa free option is valid but celebrity is saying it isn’t an option as we are technically not disembarking. Has anyone else had this issue?

Of course you are not technically disembarking because you are in transit. Being in transit and with an itinerary as you have, you are perfectly eligible for 24 or 144 hour visa free transit in relation to the length of your scheduled stop of your cruise in Shanghai. It appears that the lawyers and other high ranked people in the cruise companies are really clueless about the rights of their passengers. Shame on them.
