About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Flying in from Australia -> cruising from Shanghai and returning to Shanghai

Hi, my wife and I are flying into Shanghai (Pudong) from Sydney on 17 June. We will go straight from the airport to the Shanghai cruise terminal where we will depart on a 5 x night cruise (ship returns back to Shanghai 22 June). We will then go straight back to the airport (Pudong again) where we will jump on our return flight back to Sydney. So basically we are not staying in China, just travelling to and from the airport to access our cruise. Do we qualify for free transit, or am I going to have to pay for a visa? Don't want to get it wrong. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Chris, based on what you said, you will qualify for the free transit in Shanghai in both directions.
