About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Travelin from U.S. to Beijing

I have a Belgian passport and will be traveling to Shanghai in February. I will be staying there five days. I will then fly onwards to Indonesia. Would there be any reason why I can't use the extended 144 hour visa permit?

Joe, may I know what you mean? If you will transit in both Beijing and Shanghai, you won’t be able to use the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai any more.

sorry meant traveling to Shanghai from U.S.

It seems like my itinerary has changed though... Would I still be able to use the extended 144-hour visa If I fly to Shanghai from the U.S. and then Fly to Hong Kong ( and back to the U.S the same day ) within the 144 hour period? Thank you

If you will travel like US-Shanghai (144 hours)-HK-US, you will be able to use the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai, Nice trip!
