About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

72 hours transit question from US to Guangzhou to Hong Kong?

Does this work when having an airplane ticket from US to Guangzhou?

Then to Hong Kong - it said it needed an onward ticket - so do I need to buy another airplane ticket or can I get a train ticket when I arrived in Guangzhou & then to apply for the 72 hours transit?

Thanks.

Yu, you can apply for the 144 hour free transit in Guangzhou if you fly to Guangzhou from US, and then take a train to HK.
