About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

72 hours transit stop in China from Mongolia

Hello! As I heard that for EU /french passport holder it is anyway mandatory to get a visa to go to China from Mongolia, might this be applicable? Can I take flight from China to Shangai for example, and stay in Shangai 72hours/140 hours before taking my second flight to a third country? Thank you very much for your answer!

Now the 72h visa free transit has been prolonged to 240 hours. French passport holders enjoy 30-day visa free entry to China via any open port. So you can enter China from Mongolia visa-free.

Thank you so much for your answer! As the french ministry website mentions that a visa is mandatory to go to China from Mongolia I was wondering if a specific rule applies to go to China from Mongolia. My plan is in fact to cross the international land border in the Western Mongolia to reach Urumqi, I would need to be sure that I am allowed to, with all the passport requirements obviously! Thank you in advance if you know more about it
