About:How to Take

Shanghai to Beijing trip

Hi

We want to catch a train from Shanghai To Beijing for a two day/1 night trip. Upon arrival, we're keen to visit Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City. How do I catch the ride from Shanghai and how do I get to Tiananmen Square & Forbidden City by Bus from the Railway Station. How much does a bus cost or is it cheaper to travel by taxi. Cos we have only two days, the next day I want to visit the Great Wall of China as well.

First, the route depends on which station will you arrive at. By high speed ride, you will arrive at Beijing South station. From there, you can take subway Line 4 to Xidan first and then change to Line 1 there to Tiananmen West, this route costs CNY4 per person. If you take an overnight ride, it will stop at Beijing Railway Station. You can take Line 2 to Jianguomen from there and then change to Line 1 to Tiananmen East. This route cost CNY3 per person. Taxi is also easy to use.
