About:China Tourist Visa

I would like to stay for 4-5 months but the longest tourist visa I have been issued is 90 days.

Is there another way to get it longer? Can I extend in China? Does the embassy need a highly detailed day-by-day itinerary to approve the visa?

Lis, the way to get it longer is to extend it after entering China.
However, I’m not sure if the embassy needs a highly detailed day-by-day itinerary to approve the application.
