About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Does our travel itinerary qualify for the 144 hour visa?

Flying from San Fransisco, CA to Hong Kong on March 7th, boarding cruise ship 3 days later with multiple stops before ship's arrival and departure of passengers in Shanghai several weeks later. Will then be staying in Shanghai for less than 5 days. Finally leaving Shanghai via air to Hong Kong. Will my wife and I meet all the requirements for this free transit benefit? Thank you.

Robert, if the last country or region the ship comes from before entering Shanghai is not HK, both of you can enjoy the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai.
