Hong Kong Passport Renewal in Cairns

My HK passport is expiring in May 2017 and I will need to renew my passport.
Can I renew it and collect it in Cairns? Or do I have to do it in Brisbane?
Also, how long does it take for the process? and what are the procedures?

Thanks very much,
Pearl

Pearl, you should renew it in the consulate general of China in Brisbane. You should first prepare the relevant documents: the completed application form, a passport-sized color photo, 2 passport-style photos, your passport and its copy, and your entry record for Australia as well as other documents the consular officers consider necessary. Next, submit the application to the consulate general of China in Brisbane to renew your passport. It may take 4 to 8 weeks; this is for a reference only.
