About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Departing flight from Beijing to Bangkok with stop in Guangdong

Am I able to use the 72 hour transit in Beijing if my departing flight to Bangkok has a 2 hour stopover in Guangdong? ( I would only be connecting in Guangdong)

No, you cannot because you will transit in two Chinese cities. You need to apply for a transit G type beforehand.
