About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I am traveling myself from the US to India (I have Indian passport and US Green card).

Hi there,
I am stopping in Shanghai for approx 22 hours and will stay overnight at a hostel in the city. With Green card, am I eligible for for 72h transfer visa or free 24h transit? What documentation do we need and what is the fee/process?
Thanks!

Kiran, no, you are not eligible for the 72 hour free transit, but you can enjoy the 24 hour direct transit.
After arrival, you can go to the immigration office to apply for a temporary stay permit which is free of charge, and then you can go to the hotel and stay there. The required documents include your passport, and the air tickets.
