I just bought a new bed and wants to switch it out with the old one.

My dad said I cannot switch out the bed until 2018. I won't be able to wait till then. Please let me know if I can still switch it out this year and what's the best day to do so? My DOB is 2/28/87. I sleep toward the east, facing west. Thank you!
