About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

Canadian traveling from Taipei to Vancouver Canada via three airports and two cities in China

Do I need to get a visa to do this or just my passport

What are your transit points? If your trip involves Wuhan or Weihai then you will need a visa.

Shanghai and Guangzhou are the cities...two airports in Shanghai and one in Guangzhou then off to Vancouver

If your total time spent in China is less than 24 hours, you don't need a transit G type.
