About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

Does arriving in Pudong Airport and connecting 8 hours later for a flight count as an entry?

I will be issued a 2-entries visa to China. I will arrive to Shanghai in the morning and will then connect 8 hours later on a flight to Thailand. Does my stay at Pudong Airport for 8 hours count as an entry already?

Just ask them to give you a 24-hour stay permit instead, immigration officers are flexible this way.
