About:China Visa

When a us citizen lands in Beijing coming from Bangkok, do you have to collect your suitcase?

Or is it checked all the way through?? I have arranged a tour, I am in china for 14 hours. Just making sure I understand what I need to do when I land at 6:30 in the morning, thanks!

Christine, you are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit in Beijing if you travel like that. You need to contact with the airlines and see if your suitcase will be delivered to the final destination directly. If yes, you don’t need to collect it on your own. If not, you need to collect it and you should first apply for a free temporary stay permit at the immigration office, and then you can go to collect the luggage to check in again.
