About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transit Canada - China(Shang hai) to Vietnam

Hi, My friend will transit at Shang hai to Ho chi minh, Vietnam but He doesn't have a vietnam visa now. So, now I am helping him to get a Vietnam entry permit before he is arrived in China.(He is a Canadian)
So, does he can adopt 72hours exemption? And if he show his entry permit by e-mail(on his phone not a hard copy) does immigration officer can allow him to enter to China? Please reply as soon as possible 😫

Alicia, yes, he can apply for the 72 hour free transit. I’m afraid he needs to provide the original Vietnam entry permit rather than showing by e-mail. If you still have doubts, contact with Shanghai airport immigration office to confirm that. Call: 0086-21-51105100

Yes, he can get the 24 hour direct transit. I cannot assure whether the pdf file is ok or not. You’d better confirm that with the immigration office.

I check with China Immigration what you gave number I used. and the Officer said that Chinese officer will not check my friend's vietnam visa and they only check his e-ticket and passport also if the officer want to check VN visa no matter to show them as PDF and e-mail too.

Thank you for helping me.
