It is the winter time in Shanghai in January and the average temperature is 41°F during that time. You are suggested to wear sweater and overcoat or down jacket. The must see places are Yuyuan Garden, Yuyuan Market, the Bund, Nanjing Road, etc. Besides, you are also recommended to visit Xin Tian Di or Tianzifang, Oriental Pearl TV Tower or Jin Mao Tower. If there is still time, you may also take a side trip to the nearby water town like Zhujiajiao or Zhouzhuang. One day trip to Suzhou is also recommended.

There is train from Shanghai to Hong Kong. The train schedule is Z99B 1745/1301+1 and the journey takes around 19 hours.
