About:Chinese Embassy in Philippines

If I will be coming from Hong Kong and will visit Beijing

is there a need for me to apply for tourist visa here in the Philippines or is there a visa issued upon entry from Shenzhen? I'm planning to take the High Speed Train from Shenzhen to Beijing. (HK-Shenzhen-Beijing-MNL).

Yes, you need to apply for the tourist L type. As I know, the VOA you get from Shenzhen Port only allows you to enter Shenzhen. You can't go other cities with it.
