traveling to beijing in chinese new year

I will be travel to Beijing from 26 Jan to 2 Feb. Is there any advice for me about traveling alone, esp in Chinese New Year? Should I book a tour to the Great Wall or traveling by my self will have more fun?

You may either hire a guide to the Great Wall or travel by yourself. There are regular shuttle buses 877 and train S2 you can take to the Badaling Great Wall, very convenient. By having a guide, you may get more knowledge and information about the place you will visit. However, the guides during the Spring Festival are in great demand and limited, so you are suggested to book it as early as possible if you need it.
